DIY Spooky Shirts

DIY Spooky Shirt

It is that time of the year, the spookiest month of all! October is the time to lean into the frights and scares. This DIY project will give you goosebumps. Celebrate the lead-up to Halloween by flaunting these spooky Shirt designs.

Follow this step-by-step guide to making your very own cut-out Halloween shirt.

Materials

  • T-shirt
  • Scissors

If you don’t have a t-shirt on hand check out the SpectraUSA Wonder Vee. This shirt in black or green is perfect for this project!

  1. Lay your shirt on a clean, flat surface. Cut off the sleeves.
  2. Turn the shirt inside out and use a marker to outline your design. Make sure to draw out the areas where you want your slashes to be. Don’t know what to cut? Cobwebs and skeletons are perfectly festive ideas. If you need some guidance, find an image online and use it to select the cuts you need to form the image.
  3. Now start cutting! Going along with your drawing, make your cuts about a half a centimeter away from the lines. Each cut should be a centimeter apart.
  4. Once you finish cutting a section, stretch out the strips, causing the fabric to roll up so the gaps are more visible.

This Halloween tee can be worn over a different color shirt, or alone for a more revealing look. We love the way the black Wonder Vee looks layered over a green shirt.
