Hudson’s Bay Company pulled “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” T-shirts from its shelves and website Monday after pictures of the top sparked backlash online.

The controversial quote is by supermodel Kate Moss, who told WWD fashion magazine in 2009 that it is her motto.

Since then, it’s become a popular slogan on pro-anorexia websites.

The Bay’s T-shirt featured the quote on a mock nutrition label with a calorie count of zero.

A picture of the shirt made the rounds online Monday, and commenters bombarded The Bay with complaints, arguing the quote promotes eating disorders.

Monday afternoon, the company tweeted it would be “removed online and from stores immediately.”

Artist Christopher Lee Sauve, who designed the T-shirt, took to his blog Monday to defend it.

“The design was not intended to be pro-anorexia but the opposite,” he wrote, adding the shirt “is a protest against (Moss’s) actions and the absurd remarks that occur in the fashion industry.”
