PART I of II: Get Tough Stains out – Drink, Beauty, and Food
As you go through your day, you’ll find endless opportunities to accidentally stain your shirt. T-shirts, especially lighter colors, are basically a canvas for food, drink, and numerous other types of spills. Luckily, SpectraUSA’s garments, whether 100% cotton or poly-blend are machine washable. But you might want to want to try the following tricks before popping your soiled shirt in the wash:
We’ve all been there, but there’s no need to cry over spilled merlot. First, soak up as much of the fluid as you can. Then, apply a mix of dish soap and hydrogen peroxide (for light clothes only, as hydrogen peroxide may bleach darker colors) and throw in the wash with bio or enzymatic detergent, which targets proteins and breaks them down. Wash on the hottest setting.
Ketchup and Other Condiments
For condiment spills, make sure to get rid of as much of the spill as you can. Then, soak the garment in cold water and vinegar. Then wash as you normally would.
Makeup and Foundation Stains
It’s so easy to rub off some make up as you get dressed, but these stains. First, and most important, don’t rub the stain as it will push the stain deeper into the fabric. Dawn or any other dish fluid are great for removing oil-based stains. Soak your spot in some dish soap for a few hours or overnight. Throw in the wash with your regular detergent.
Mascara is a different beast than foundation, and so it has to be tackled differently. If you have some mascara on your shirt, first scrape away any excess with any plastic card in your wallet. Then, spray some hairspray on the spot (seriously!). Let it sit for a few minutes and rinse with cold water and run through the wash.
