HAYWARD — A man armed with a note, wearing a black T-shirt that read “I have issues,” robbed a south Hayward bank this week, authorities said.
The suspect, who police said was caught on camera during the heist, walked into the U.S. Bank at 27000 Hesperian Boulevard about 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, approached a teller window and handed a bank employee a note demanding money, said Sgt. Eric Melendez.
The note indicated the suspect was armed and robbing the bank, police said. The man did not show a weapon during the robbery.
The teller complied and the suspect walked out of the bank through the front door.
Police described the suspect as a Hispanic or white man in his 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 185 pounds.
Security cameras inside the bank caught two photos of the suspect. In them, the suspect is donning jeans and a black T-shirt with a small red cartoon character wearing a mask and a gun strapped into a holster, looking at comic books.
